Love Islanders as Shoujo Anime Characters

This week some hot new bombshells are about to enter the villa

While rewatching the past two seasons of Love Island USA I was experiencing the strangest sense of dejavu. I swore I'd seen all of the bombshells somewhere before (other than my first watch, of course). Some of the islanders personalities were eerily familiar. That's when I realized the love island cast has dopplegangers in anime. Here, on this list, I'll be telling you which anime characters iconic love islanders are. Play along if with your own guesses too!

Kordell

The first man I'll be covering is silly, short king of the island. I'd say out of the cast members I've cast he's probably the easiest to predict.

If you guessed Otani from Lovely Complex you would 100% be correct. First and most obviously, these two are silly short kings with spunk oozing out of their fun-sized bodies (ew at that wording). Most importantly, these men love to tease, joke, and cackle with their significant others. The dynamic between otani and risa is very similar to the one we see with Kordell and Serena. In the same way Serena and Kordell's relationship is a rollercoaster (dock scene), Otani and Risa's relationship is a rollercoaster ride.

ROB

The one you've all been  waiting for. I could hear your nervous swiping to find your overalled snake tattooed man from down here in the blog post my god. Rob is morally gray for me. His personality can be really off putting and down right hard to put up at times. But I also love him, there's something that radiates loveable shy boy despite him being pretty fucking questionable 1/2 the time. For that reason, him and his charming split personality get Haru from Fruits Baskets.

LEAH

Leah was the easiest Yona pick of my life. Both are princesses, one literal and the other a princess in her California Pop Culture royalty kind of way. Despite coming from privileged places, both girls are incredibly down to earth and have a  fighting attitude. Also both girls don't play about their gang and were able to find a secure and stable match after dealing with a major betrayal. Leah is a perfect Yona.

KayloR

Girl, stand up! Seriously I'm begging you to stand up! Both of these girls had me screaming that at my television. Kaylor is Nana to a tee, unfortunately for her. Both girls are sweethearts with a gentle heart and an earnest pursuit for love. Despite their gentle hearts their naivety and blind commitment get them involved with non committal men with some serious emotional baggage. When you get caught in a relationship like that you're signing yourself up for a world of hurt. Also both women are in oddly queer coded friendships with their doppelgangers. Her and Liv before their fallout were definitely giving Nana and Nana. Kaylor is a Hachi girl, I hope she watches Nana one day.

HUDA

I'm actually so genuinely scared of you Huda stans that my hands were shaking like a leaf on a branch typing this. Would you find me and burn down my school and rip the false lashes off my face if I disrespected your queen. You would, and your ferocity is what makes you a Huda fan. Huda is one of the main girls from peach girl. I'll allow you to pick who depending on whether you're a fan or her foe. But tread lightly, Huda fans see all. Jokes aside, Huda is what made this last season of Love Island television gold. Just like Peach Girl is addictive with it sense of drama and love triangles, Huda brings a presence you can't look away from

Serena

You stand on business like you're being payed to... just like Misaki from Maid-Sama. Simply put you're a kickass girl. When it comes to your girlfriends, or any girls, you do not let any man mess around. When they do play around you'll give them a piece of your mind (dock scene again I'm looking at you). When it comes to your man, he's just out their hooting and hollering, but he does not play about you. When he's getting on your nerves you put him in his places and he he know it.

AmAya

I struggled to think of someone who matched Amaya's sweet heart and occasional spunky attitude. A lot of new age shoujo girls have gentle hearts, but lack the occasional crash out energy (if you know what I mean). So, i traversed deep into the archives of old age shoujo. That's when I remembered Sana from Kodocha. Amaya is a perfect fit for Miss. Sana. Just like Sana the two girls are always making up silly little songs to sing to themselves. Each girls has a sense of fun and playfulness whether its sana's silly jokes or Amaya running around and taking photos by
